ep 32 Shimmy Shimmy Shake
7-Sept-2026
Your body might be holding something right now, and you might not even know it yet. This practice shakes it out.
In this episode of Being in My Goodness, I’m sharing one of my most-reached-for practices: Shimmy Shimmy Shake.
Tension, worry, stress, lack of confidence, fear… your body holds all of it somewhere. You might recognize it as an icky feeling. Or you might have negative thinking. But if you tune into your muscles, you’ll find they are holding it physically too. Tightening, flexing, bracing. Sometimes so subtly you’ve stopped noticing.
This practice is simple. Shake your body until you feel like you don’t want to shake anymore. What you’re looking for is that release like stepping into air conditioning on a hot day. That exhale of oh, I can relax now. When that comes, you’re done.
And for me the shake almost always turns into a shimmy, which turns into something that feels like dancing. And that’s the whole point because dancing is fun. Fun is the point.
I share how this one and EP 2 Go Slow Mo are the two I reach for most in ordinary daily life and how this became a practice my son and I do together. He shakes mostly with just his head, which I find completely hilarious.
I also include a Human Design type layer so you can find the most natural way to enter the practice for how you’re designed.
This one is easy to do, no skill required. And it only takes a minute.
